I’m using Kubuntu 25 with Plasma 6 and Dolphin.

Folder icons appear completely black when using SVG icon themes
(Breeze, Papirus, etc.) at icon sizes larger than 22px.

Important details:
- The problem happens even with newly created empty folders.
- It is NOT related to previews or thumbnails.
- Changing icon size to 22px makes the icons render correctly.
- Sizes like 32px, 48px or larger show black folder icons.
- Changing icon themes does not fix the issue.
- debsums reports all related packages as OK.
- System integrity and packages are fine.

This strongly suggests a Qt6 SVG rendering issue affecting Dolphin
icon rendering at certain sizes.

Workaround:
Set icon size to 22px (PNG fallback is used).

Environment:
- Plasma 6 (Wayland)
- Dolphin
- Qt6
- Kubuntu 25

Correction to my original report:

After further testing, I realized that I described the icon size condition incorrectly.

The issue happens when icon sizes are SMALLER than 22px, not larger.

Additional details:
- The problem affects some folder icons, not necessarily all of them.
- Newly created folders also show the issue immediately (black icon).
- Setting the icon size to exactly 22px makes the icons render correctly.
- Larger icon sizes do not trigger the issue on my system.

All other details in the report remain the same.

Thanks for the bug report. I'm not clear from your description if you're describing icons in general in Plasma or just in Dolphin. The bug was filed under plasmashell, but it sounds like you're describing Dolphin. 

Can you clarify? Also, a screenshot showing the problem would help out a lot. Thanks!

icons in Dolphin

Hello TraceyC.

Thank you for replying. I am not very familiar with Linux, and I apologize for my English. I have been using Kubuntu for about 30 days with the icons in Dolphin set to 16px. However, after a Linux update (I do not remember which one), I noticed that the 16px icons in Dolphin became black in all themes, including newly created folders. Because of this, I started using 22px icons. I believe the issue is not directly related to Dolphin, since the icons were displayed correctly before the update.
