Description Gauthier CENES 2025-12-26 13:27:06 UTC
SUMMARY
Improve visual feedback when selecting a window in “Window Under Cursor” mode.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Spectacle.
2. Select the “Window Under Cursor” mode.
3. Move the cursor over different application windows before clicking.

OBSERVED RESULT
When hovering over windows, there is no clear visual indication of which window is currently targeted. This makes it difficult to identify the intended window, especially when multiple windows overlap, and may also impact accessibility for some users.

EXPECTED RESULT
When hovering over a window, there should be clear visual feedback indicating which window is currently targeted. For example, this could include displaying the application name and icon of the hovered window, and even a small preview of the window content, similar to what is shown when hovering an application in the Plasma task manager

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora Linux 42
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.21.0
Qt Version: 6.9.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I would be interested in working on implementing this feature myself as a learning opportunity and contributing it back to the project.

This sounds reasonable
