Sentry Crash Report:

Description Julien Kaspar 2025-12-26 10:33:13 UTC
SUMMARY
I use a pen tablet as my pain input device instead of a mouse. Various interfaces of KDE are not reacting to pen inputs and some of those have already been reported. I didn't see a report for this one yet.

The taskbar (usually the panel at the bottom) does not react to pen inputs (pressure and side buttons).
This is a big issues since it is so essential for daily use.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use a pen tablet
2. Try tapping or using the pen buttons while having the cursor on the taskbar

OBSERVED RESULT
No reaction from the taskbar.

EXPECTED RESULT
Pen tapping and side buttons should always be interpreted as left, middle and right click.

Maybe [468396](https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468396) and [513779](https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=513779) are related to this?

You specifically mentioned pressure and side buttons, what about clicking with the tip as with everywhere else? Does that work?
Comment 3 Julien Kaspar 2026-01-09 08:44:24 UTC
No that also doesn't work. Actually the elements also don't highlight on hover.

When I try using the taskbar with a pen on my Gentoo work computer it works fine. So there's something on my Fedora machine that causes this and I don't know what to look for.

I have just updated to the latest version and it is now fixed. If it changes I'll let you know :D
Comment 5 Nate Graham 2026-01-10 16:33:00 UTC
Cool. What's fixed: everything, or just some things?
Comment 6 Julien Kaspar 2026-01-12 11:53:48 UTC
All mouse clicks and hover updates seem to work now. So yes, everything.
Comment 7 Nate Graham 2026-01-12 14:57:46 UTC
Great!
