Any extension that is installed and then uninstalled remains in the installed applications of Discover, and this produces errors during the update.

2. uninstalling this theme
3. system update

OBSERVED RESULT
An error occurs when the system tries to update themes that have been previously uninstalled, and this sometimes causes Discover to crash.

Thanks for the bug report. In order to correctly try to reproduce the problem, we need a little more detail. Some themes, like Window Decorations, can't be removed from System Settings. Please let us know what kind of theme you installed an uninstalled.

Also, the exact error would be very helpful.

Thanks!

When bugs occur, themes are not visible in the settings but are still visible in Discover. This bug most often happens with global themes, but sometimes also with all types of extensions.

I will try to provide you with an error code as soon as possible.

Thank you for the additional detail.
I was able to reproduce this today on Plasma built on git-master
I had uninstalled the "Sweet Aurorae" theme. It incorrectly shows up in the Updates list, but not in the Installed list (correct)

From the screen recording:
The terminal shows errors for a pling download of Apple-Ventura.tar.xz "server replied with status code 429"
There are many other 429 error log lines for other themes, like Ant Dark, Amethyst Haze

Note: The 429 errors in Discover are sometimes also caused by server-side issues, and have a separate report open. This bug may be contributing to that problem as well. That's bug 513591
