I rebind my keyboard keys to have extra functionality closer to my fingertips. This has the side effect of disabling the trackpad. I tried defining the keyd ID to only apply to the keyboard but no luck

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable "Disable while mouse is connected"
2. Enable keyd

OBSERVED RESULT
Trackpad stops working

Why does it do that?

TBH this seems like something to bring up to the developers of keyd. It's not clear that any KDE code is involved or at fault here.
