Quick example.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Try to select from right to left a long word that you don't usually select, like a name or series of numbers, like a serial or code.

OBSERVED RESULT
It's a hassle to know if you selected the first character because the cursor will have its arrow shape covering it.
And if you stop holding the click just to check it can end up with you having to copy the same text all over again because the first letter wasn't selected.

EXPECTED RESULT
Have the cursor see-through, or in negative when its arrow icon is obstructing a text selection.
Or anything that would make it impossible for the arrow icon to obstruct text selections.

This exact problem is the reason why the pointer turns into an I-beam when it's over selectable text. If that isn't working, *that's* the bug that needs solving. And it's a bug in the app, so please report it to the app's developers. Thanks!

Issue on Dolphin 25.12.0

It's possible to cover the first character on Dolphin.

Most of KDE already took the issue into account by using a magnifying glass icon to expand the text space beyond where the arrow cursor could obstruct the first character.

Stop re-opening bug reports I close.

If you find a specific case where this needs to be changed, open a new bug report for that app. There will presumably be more than one, and you'll need to open more than one bug report.
