Sentry Crash Report:

Description vilim 2025-12-20 15:53:26 UTC
Randomly (but usually waking after sleep), all panels from the bottom bar stop appearing. It is not possible to either open the kickoff menu or any settings panels from the right with either keyboard or mouse. There is just a blue bar on top of the kickoff button when the menu is supposed to be visible, but not the menu itself.
I had no such issues with the previous KDE version (6.4)

I am running Wayland with a nVidia GPU on Manjaro.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Wake computer from sleep or lock
2. Try to open any menu or panel setting from the bottom panel.

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens

EXPECTED RESULT
Menus

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

This sounds a lot like bug 509557. This may be happening because Vulkan rendering might be enabled on your system.

In a terminal, run

kcmshell6 kcm_qtquicksettings

Make sure the Rendering Backend is set to Automatic or OpenGL, and the Render loop should be set to Automatic too. Also uncheck GL Core Profile.
Then log out and log in again, or reboot.

Let us know if the bug still happens with those settings. Thanks!
