Mostly this will be upstreaming the work that Louis Brunner has done in maintaining Darwin support, including adding arm64 support.

My first big problem is going to be how to access a macOS 11 arm64 (virtual) machine.

cfarm has
cfarm104  Mac mini (2020) 	arm64 	Apple M1	MacOSX 12.6 21.6.0

I've also read that Apple added virtualisation support in macOS 12, which doesn't help me for macOS 11.

So I might have to go
amd64 macOS 11 -> amd64 macOS 12 -> arm64 macOS 12
