Hmm, is that line only in Kate? Does the line move with the Kate window or stays fixed at absolute screen coordinates. Have you some non 100% scale factor? (In reply to Christoph Cullmann from comment #1) > Hmm, is that line only in Kate? > Does the line move with the Kate window or stays fixed at absolute screen > coordinates. > Have you some non 100% scale factor? Yeah it stays with the kate window- Not my displays problem sure Because other apps such as GIMP, Or- Literally Firefox, or my display doesnt has that (In reply to Christoph Cullmann from comment #1) > Hmm, is that line only in Kate? > Does the line move with the Kate window or stays fixed at absolute screen > coordinates. > Have you some non 100% scale factor? I dont have a non-100% Scale factor for my enire UI- But i do sometimes use a non-100 scale in kate itself- Like Ctrl+Mouse scroll Thought thats worth mentioning Hmm, ok, then that is strange, with no global scaling, I would not have thought there is a chance we miss to paint stuff, but perhaps there is. Hey, while reading this i discovered my internal screen uses 125% external uses 115% Sorry for this mistake, I overlooked the screen size (In reply to Anony Mous from comment #5) > Hey, while reading this i discovered my internal screen uses 125% > external uses 115% > > Sorry for this mistake, I overlooked the screen size Does it happen on both screens? Created attachment 187451 [details] Screen tears at that area of the screen SUMMARY Screen tearing around the lower middle that wont go away- I am seeing it for like 3 weeks now, This must be a software issue. It's annoying tho, I restart my computer daily (Shut it down) yet it still happens. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Kate 2. Theres a black line even if no file is open, But open a file 3. Now the black line is a sorta colorful black line- Screen tearing OBSERVED RESULT A horizontal line that indicates some gpu bug? EXPECTED RESULT clean writing area SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: Null macOS: Null (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora Linux 42 KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.20.0 Qt Version: 6.9.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Kernel : 6.17.9-200 CPU: Intel i5-1235U GPU: Iris Xe RAM: 8GB DDR4 3200Mhz By the way, my distro originally had GNOME- I used dnf swap to change to KDE Plasma, I dont know if thats a issue- Still worth mentioning ig
