Sentry Crash Report:

Description John 2025-12-03 21:33:32 UTC
SUMMARY
Cannot add any new event or task

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use Debian 14 (Forky) with Plasma 6.5.3 and Frameworks 6.20.
2. Install Merkuro Calendar.
3. Right-click on a day and try to create a new event or new task.

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens, meaning now input window opens and no message is shown.

EXPECTED RESULT
A input window appears to fill the form and save the new event or task that I wanted to created for that day.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.20.0
Qt Version: 6.9.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This worked initially (yesterday) when I first tried it!

But after I added (saved) the event, I noticed that I made a mistake.
The mistake was not putting in in a separate birthdays calendar, as it was a birthday celebration event.
I right-clicked on it and tried to edit it.
Every time I tried that, the whole program crashed.
Without any error being shown anywhere!
After multiple failed edit attempts I manged to at least delete it.

Now I cannot add a new event or task no matter which one of the 2 types I choose and no matter what day on the month view I choose to right-click into.
Nothing happens, which makes the whole calendar totally unusable as an always empty calendar is pretty much not good at all for me!
In the about window, I see this line which might have something to do with the problem:
Qt using 6.9.2 and built against 6.7.2

Do you have a backtrace for the crash?

You should be able to get one with coredumpctl debug merkuro-calendar

Sorry for not knowing to to provide a backtrace.
I tried in the past to learn, but I could never follow that tutorial until the end with success.

That command gives me this output:
Hint: You are currently not seeing messages from other users and the system.
Users in groups 'adm', 'systemd-journal' can see all messages.
Pass -q to turn off this notice.
No match found.

And with sudo this output:
[sudo] password for john:
No match found.

And in both cases the "No match found." is in a dark red color.
Merkuro Calendar dosn't open, if this command was supposed to also open with some debug turned on.
If it was supposed to show info about last crash...
It seems that the new event opens that pop-up window again, but the event is not added to the calendar after clicking the Add button.
And the new task makes it crash immediately. (1-2 seconds delay after the click)

BTW, the program is now at version: 25.08.3
I don't know how to check the version of Akonadi, if the program is using that.
As a few things were updated (got into the testing repository):
