Proposed reorganisation of the right-click menu

Screenshot of the right-click menu

SUMMARY
The right-click menu is currently organised in a way that mixes window controls and applet/panel controls, with no apparent logic behind this sorting. Reorganising it so that items are divided in neat, logically consistent sections would help improve its usability.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Right click on an icon in the task manager

OBSERVED RESULT
Items are sorted in an inconsistent way.

EXPECTED RESULT
Items are grouped in a way that is logical and consistent.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0
Qt Version: 6.5.2

Proposed reorganisation of the right-click menu

In this screenshot, you can see a proposal for a reorganisation. On the bottom there are all the controls related to the window itself (close, open a new one, move to desktop, more); this is followed by the recent files, which are still related to the application; the last items are related to the panel and the applet itself. In this proposal, there are clear sections which are cohesive and consistent, and organise the items in a way that groups them together based on what the item does and what it is related to (window, application or panel/applet). This makes the menu easier to navigate and use.
