This looks like an issue with damage tracking. Please attach the output of kscreen-doctor -o. Also, next time you see this happening, please open the kwin debug console (search for it in krunner to open it) and look up the frameGeometry of the window in question. We need the last two values specifically (the size of the window). 🐛🧹 ⚠️ This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days. Please provide the requested information, then set the bug status to REPORTED. If there is no change for at least 30 days, it will be automatically closed as RESOLVED WORKSFORME. For more information about our bug triaging procedures, please read https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Bug_triaging. Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone! |
Created attachment 187181 [details] Video example of dragging a widow and seeing thin graphical artifacts SUMMARY I experience graphical artifacting when dragging certain windows around, sometimes when scrolling/typing in Konsole, and in the settings menu of Private Internet Access client. The symptom is always 1-pixel wide horizontal/vertical lines. I don't think it's a GPU/driver problem, because I completely replaced my Nvidia GPU with an AMD GPU, and the problem is still present. I believe this is a kwin_wayland specific problem, because switching to Xfce (either Wayland or X11) completely fixes the problem. STEPS TO REPRODUCE It's not clear how to reproduce this in a consistent way, or if other people can even reproduce it at all. The video attached shows it happening in real time. If someone else had this problem, they would notice it frequently. OBSERVED RESULT Graphical artifacting in form of thin horizontal/vertical lines of pixels. Example screenshot + video are attached. EXPECTED RESULT No graphical artifacting SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS kinfo output: Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.20.0 Qt Version: 6.10.0 Kernel Version: 6.17.9-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 24 × 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-12900KF Memory: 64 GiB of RAM (62.6 GiB usable) Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
