I am able to reproduce this issue. Running Plasma 6.5.3, KDE Frameworks 6.20.0, Qt 6.10.1 on Wayland on OpenSUSE. As OP mentioned, if I click the 'copy' button after, for example, selecting a rectangular region, the subsequent "Unsaved" view/edit window pops up containing the selected image along with a flash message that says "The screenshot has been copied to the clipboard." But, attempting to paste the image somewhere reveals a basically empty image. Viewing the Clipboard tray applet confirms the same -- something was added to the clipboard stack but it's just a grey bar or something. If I subsequently click the 'Copy' icon in the icon bar of the "Unsaved" window, the image is correctly copied to the clipboard. |
Created attachment 186827 [details] Picture of the mentioned empty file in the "OBSERVED RESULT" section of the bug description. SUMMARY Spectacle produces an empty image file when copying a screenshot, the only way to properly copy it is through the pop-up that comes after the screenshot. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Take a screenshot. 2. Click the Copy button. 3. Paste the copied file somewhere. OBSERVED RESULT Nothing happens, clipboard claims there is a file there, but it is empty, there is no image displayed EXPECTED RESULT The image would be copied and I could paste it anywhere. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch - KDE Plasma KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0 Qt Version: 6.10.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Like I mentioned earlier, I can actually copy it if I do it through the pop-up with the image of what I took a screen shot of, but I find that less convenient than simply pressing a button and being done.
