Description Joe Biden 2025-11-12 20:34:23 UTC
SUMMARY
Split panels, two directories. Clicking into the left panel, and then, for example, Hitting Control+Home to go to /home/user works in the right panel, not the left.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Split window into two panels for two directories
2. Click focus in the left panel
3. Shortcut for the home dir (Control + Home) takes you to the /home/user for the right panel, not the left.

OBSERVED RESULT
Right panel goes to /home/user, not the left, where I have clicked into

EXPECTED RESULT
The Left panel to respond to the keyboard shortcut

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Hi. I think this issue is maybe this too. Do you think?
"Dolphin focus panic on left or right panel. with use shortcut keys on split view"
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=508554
If so, fixed version is Dolphin 26.03.70. KDE gear 26.03.

Hello. Is there a possibility that the fix for this could please be rolled out to Kubuntu 25.10? I just realized now that last week I deleted a folder on one of our network shares unknowingly as the focus was on the incorrect window. You click on a file but focus is not on that side of the split window. I do not know what else I could have done during this time and quite worried about this now.
This affects file renaming and right click as well. I click on the file, press F2 and the other side renames.

Hi, Developer Rafał Lichwałapush fixed this issue. And developer Méven Car pused fixed version to Dolphin 25.12.
You can see this logs on [https://invent.kde.org/system/dolphin/-/commit/3f5bf2dfb18feffc84770cc19c6e2786ff8de8f8]

Even Kubuntu Backport is 25.08, So I think difficult to if KDE Gear 25.12 is not include to Kubuntu Backport.
https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/ubuntu/backports/+index?batch=75&memo=75&start=75

Ubuntu 26.04 Resolute Raccoon have Dolphin 25.11.80.
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dolphin
Maybe Ubuntu series 26.04 have Dolphin 25.12, with after update.
