Description Claire 2025-11-08 19:51:26 UTC
SUMMARY
Copy/paste via wl-copy does not automatically add to clipboard. Instead, a wayland icon appears on the application panel and needs to be clicked to activate it.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open terminal
2. wl-copy "test"
3. Click the wayland icon that appears on your application panel

OBSERVED RESULT
wl-copy does not get automatic focus

EXPECTED RESULT
The text/input is copied to the clipboard immediately.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Fedora Linux 43
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0
Qt Version: 6.10.0
Kernel Version: 6.17.7-300.fc43.x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 8-Core Processor
Memory: 32 GiB of RAM (31.2 GiB usable)
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I was able to fix this by going into my Window Management settings and setting Focus Stealing Prevention from "Medium" to "Low". However, I believe this should not be necessary; something like a clipboard util should surely be an exception and before a recent update this did not happen.
