Description Otto 2025-11-07 11:08:18 UTC
Image files that have a different file extension than mime Type f.e. exempleimage.jpg with a content mime type image/webp . will not not show a thumbnail or a preview in the info panel.
In the file property the content type is correctly stated but not used to handle the file.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. take a .webp and rename it with a .jpg extension.
2. the correct behavior happens when you delete the extension or the file name before the extension.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
the thumbnail vanish and if you have sorted by type it jumps to another position

EXPECTED RESULT
nothing should happen

macOS:
(available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window)
