Description vmajor 2025-11-06 23:03:36 UTC
MISSING FEATURE: it is not obvious, or even possible to precisely select a colour using a hex code.

This makes it unusually cruel or impossible to work on any web imagery. Please implement this feature, or make it more obvious to locate, see Adobe Photoshop since forever.

I now have to give up and try to find something else to work with.

There's a few ways. Under Settings → Dockers, you can enable the "specific color selector", which gives you various ways of entering colors directly. You can also click on the foreground or background color in the toolbar at the top (unless you moved it elsewhere) to summon a color picker and set your color there.

Generally, if you're looking for a feature, you can search in the manual. For example, searching "hex code" woulda given you the answer as well: https://docs.krita.org/en/search.html?q=hex+code

Krita is primarily meant for painting, so the default layout is set up for that purpose. If you want to do work on web imagery, animation, photo editing etc, you'll definitely want to enable different docks for that. However, if you want to propose a way to make this kind of thing more obvious, you can do so on the krita-artists forum, people will be able to discuss and vote for the feature there: https://krita-artists.org/c/develop/feature-requests/17
