debug log
Hi Maik,
Thank you for the quick reply!
I'm attaching the debug log. Additionally, as a side note: when using
my second local user I could make use of my "pi4" MYSQL server
for a new digikam database (and seeing "Dates" entries too) - so at least
partly this really seems to be a local configuration or database issue.
Maybe you can see something from the log?
The log shows no errors. The list in the Date tab is completely empty? Are there dates under the thumbnails? Maik (In reply to Maik Qualmann from comment #3) > The log shows no errors. The list in the Date tab is completely empty? Are > there dates under the thumbnails? Yes, the list in the Dates tab is completely empty, and yes, there are dates under the thumbnails. Starting the AppImage version instead of the Debian version I have dates 1997, then all years from 2001 until 2025, as expandable entries. I have no idea what could be influencing it. I would try renaming the "digikamrc" file and starting with a new configuration to see if it works with that user account. Maik Now with the AppImage workaround this is not an urgent issue to me anymore. All my three current systems have good performance, and all of them are AMD64 systems. So I'll just keep the AppImage in a shared network location. I tried two more things, to find out what exactly is going wrong, and in how far this is Debian specific: I booted Kubuntu 25.10 from USB, and installed and started Digikam there (version 8.7.0) with my problematic digikamrc configuration. The [somehow I hit 'save changes' in the middle of a sentence, sorry] ...so with Kubuntu 25.10 the "Dates" tab is populated as it should be. Because of that I'm expecting future Debian releases to be working again with my config, too. The problem should disappear eventually. @Vlado This file can be considerated as fixed for you ? Gilles Caulier Hi Gilles, thanks for keeping up the great work on digiKam, and even keeping track of such exotic problems as this! Yes, with the AppImage I can use digiKam just fine. So "works for me" is good. I'm changing to that state. Vlado |
