Description Dan 2025-10-24 11:59:35 UTC
SUMMARY
my cursor is a glitch after upgrading from 6.4 latest (cant remember exact version) to plasma 6.5.0-1.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Ran pacman -Syu
2. Allowed the updates
3. reboot

OBSERVED RESULT
upgraded to plasma 6.5.0-1, but cursor is a multiline horozontal glitch. the clickable area is the left most part of the glitch.
cursor behavoir is also sometime buggy when trying to right-click or select text. as a tempory workaround i have removed then readded the psmouse module using
$ modprobe -r psmouse
$ modprobe psmouse
but for now i'll avoid right-click and selecting text with touchpad. keyboard shortcuts for selecting text work fine.

EXPECTED RESULT
the cursor should just work

Are you running the radeon/amdgpu driver on an "old" AMD GPU?

If yes, this is probably a duplicate of bug 510930. I have requested a patch release of kwin in Arch Linux, see here:
https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/kwin/-/issues/14

If not, what is your graphics driver and which GPU do you have?

i'm using amdgpu on an 'old' GPU. i had prevoisely switched from the default of radeon to amdgpu to fix other graphics related issues.

Processors: 4 x AMD A8-7410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon R5 Graphics

thanks. didnt know of that report. tried searching for cursor issues as well

Even on NAVI2 with AMS I'm getting random glitches on the leftmost column and topmost row of pixels on the mouse cursor.
