This is French translation problem; moving accordingly.
Comment 2 Xavier Besnard 2025-10-25 14:40:15 UTC
Hello Michel & Graham.
I am also under Plasma 6.5 with Kubuntu 26.04 (Dev).
I tried to reproduce the issue reported:
1. Open system settings
2. Select Global Theme

In fact, I saw on the left, an item "Thème global" with a list of sub-items:
Couleurs
Style d'applications
Style Plasma
Décoration de fenêtres
Icônes
Pointeurs
Sons du système
Écran de démarrage
Écran de connexion (sddm)
Écran de démarrage ==> This one looks a duplicate and is inoperative (no reaction by clicking on it)

So, I am not sure that it is a translation issue.
Graham, please could you re-analyse the situation as on a translation point of view, all is fine?
Regards. Xavier

The problem is that "Splash Screen" and "Boot Splash Screen" are translated to the same word (Écran de démarrage).
