Description Carlen White 2025-10-20 15:32:52 UTC
Original Thread: https://discuss.kde.org/t/click-drag-release-dropdowns/40734
Checked revision: 29dadde798531d33624a77045897760eb23b28df
Also affects: 6.19.0

SUMMARY
Clicking on a ComboBox then dragging onto an option does not seem to work (as a KDE Maintainer confirmed it should be.)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open `systemsettings`, Display Configuration
2. Try to click and drag the Resolution ComboBox

OBSERVED RESULT
Options are not displayed, cannot roll over onto them.

EXPECTED RESULT
Options are displayed, and with the click still held roll over onto then release to select.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: NixOS 25.11
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0
Qt Version: 6.9.2
Kernel Version: 6.17.1-zen1 (64-bit)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If you're not sure what I'm talking about, open Chromium, visit `https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_select`, and click–then–hold on the select element then drag onto an option before releasing to select.
Comment 1 Méven 2025-10-20 16:15:38 UTC
It works fine with Qt Widgets.
Comment 2 Nate Graham 2025-10-20 16:59:10 UTC
This is called "Menu Rolling". Unfortunately we're missing support in Qt for this. See https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-124483
