It's clear. The crash is totally outside digikam, in darktable itself. Try to open darktable alone, and try to open the CR2 file as well to see if it's reproducible. You are quite correct! I re-installed darktable, and now the problem went away. I apologize for not paying more attention to the error message/trace. Thanks!
