same is true if you add the clock as widget on the desktop... if you activate the option 'show second hand' you'll see it's not moving forward The analog clock or the digital clock or both? Both Analog as widget, digital in systray hover over digital/popup also does not increment seconds Do you have an NVIDIA GPU? If you restart Plasma with `systemctl restart --user plasma-plasmashell.service`, does it get temporarily un-stuck? i did it 'the old way' previously (i was looking for just a clock-widget restart, search results indicated plasmashell restart):
kquitapp6 plasmashell
nohup plasmashell --replace >/dev/null 2>&1 &
and it gets unstuck/shows the current time, but did not update the clock afterwards.
I also logged off/on with the same effect: clock hangs, no time-updates
Using `systemctl restart --user plasma-plasmashell.service` right now restarted the clock: it shows the current time and(!) it advances the display (seconds in popup are updating).
Which is strange.. why is it doing what it should right now?
Any logs i can provide for this?
And no, no nvidia - never again :-) on a laptop

If y'all are on git master, it's https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma5support/-/merge_requests/48#note_1323252, which was just fixed. Hopefully the next package update will deliver the fix to everyone. (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #9) > Ah, actually I know what this is. There was an update of plasma5support in between (after 13:06h) so that the plasmashell restart shows working clocks again. |
