SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch an app that requires encryption (likeTuta mail or Element).

OBSERVED RESULT
Your system has a supported keyring but encryption is not available.

Electron has detected that encryption is not available on your keyring kwallet6. Please ensure that you have the keyring installed. If you do have the keyring installed, please reboot and try again [i already did, didn't fixed anything]. Optionally, you can allow Element use a weaker form of encryption.

EXPECTED RESULT
App launched without problem.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Nicolas Fella 2025-10-10 09:06:20 UTC
If the application are from Flatpak there are additional permissions in the manifest needed for them to access KWallet. See e.g. https://github.com/flathub/im.riot.Riot/pull/537

Nothing here indicates that there's a bug in KWallet itself
