Description timahakal15 2025-10-02 07:15:30 UTC
When opening the Settings window (from the bottom-left corner where device name and settings are shown), a small window appears with the following options:

Device Name

Bluetooth toggle

Network toggle

About KDE Connect

About KDE

This settings window cannot be closed.

There is no close/minimize button.

It does not appear in the Force Quit menu.

You cannot close the KDE Connect app itself until this small window is gone.

The only workaround is to restart the Mac.

This makes it very frustrating to use, since opening settings effectively forces a restart to recover.

Hi there,
I had the same issue and was also confused about how to close the settings window. This prevented me from using the app any further.

I discovered that you can close the settings window by pressing the ESC key.

While the settings window was open, I could see the KDE Connect app in the Activity Monitor and close it by clicking Stop and selecting Quit or Force Quit. You don't need to restart your Mac.

However, I agree that the UI should have a visual indicator to close the settings window.
