SUMMARY
On REH8:  Error Conflicting File Types on files that do not differ

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.  invoke kdiff3 
2.  lookup file

OBSERVED RESULT
files are shown read in the gui (differ), but the files are the same. The Encoding and the Lend end Style displayed for A and B are the same also.

EXPECTED RESULT
The gui should show green as the files are identical

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: uname -a gives: 4.18.0-553.58.1.el8_10.x86_64
