SUMMARY

When very quickly pressing the Delete key after selecting a part of the image with the Rectangular Selection Tool, the selection is intact. This is annoying as the user has to press the Delete key again for the desired effect.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a new image
2. Activate the Freehand Brush tool
3. Choose black as a foreground color
4. Paint something
5. Activate the Rectangular Selection Tool
6. Select a part of the image by dragging mouse
7. Very quickly (may require a few attempts) after the mouse button was released, press the Delete key
8. If the Delete key was pressed quick enough, then the selection is not affected

OBSERVED RESULT

Delete key doesn't fill the selection with white color, if pressed very quickly after selecting

EXPECTED RESULT

Delete key fills the selection with white color, regardless of the key press speed
