SUMMARY
When switching virtual desktop while plugged into multiple monitors, the primary display on my Framework 13 with Fedora KDE flashes very quickly for a few seconds and has no animation. This doesn't happen on the secondary display

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Plug in an external monitor to a laptop
2. Create multiple virtual desktops
3. Switch between them, either with gestures or keyboard shortcuts

OBSERVED RESULT
Flashing windows with no switching animation

EXPECTED RESULT
Animation when changing virtual desktop and no flashing windows

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
(available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window)
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora Linux 42
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.17.0
Qt Version: 6.9.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The laptop on which this happens has a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and a 120Hz 2880*1920 display. The external display is connected over HDMI and is a Samsung 1920*1080 60Hz display.

I can't replicate that here, the animation works correctly with an external monitor connected

Can you post the output of

  qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin supportInformation

perhaps you've enabled some effects that conflict with each other
