SUMMARY
When searching for an unopen application in Overview all other windows disappear, closing Overview will cause the hidden windows to appear suddenly. If the searched application takes too long to load, it too will pop in.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable Overview
2. Have any applications open and then search for one that isn't (or have 'Search results include filtered windows' Overview setting disabled)
3. Close Overview (either by completing the search or closing Overview with its shortcut)

OBSERVED RESULT
Hidden windows pop in.

EXPECTED RESULT
Any sort of animation brings them back in.

I'm not immediately able to reproduce this on git-master. I may not be clear on what you mean by "hidden windows". Here's what I tried

1. Overview enabled and 'Search results include filtered windows' setting disabled
2. Opened Konsole, Kate (minimized), no other apps
3. Triggered Overview and searched for Dolphin - Observed the list of results appears, including Applications, Images, etc
4. Closed Overview with its shortcut

Result: Konsole was still shown, Kate was still minimized.

Would it be possible to attach a screen recording of what you're seeing, so we can make sure we're thinking of the same thing?

I've attached a video showing the problem (Sorry about the stutter. The screen recording stutters every time right there.) Probably should've stated it was a visual bug, my bad. Unless the window is supposed to appear like that after closing. I assumed it should show the same animation as when you Peek at Desktop.
