drm_info for version 6.4.4 |
||
Thank you for the bug report! However Plasma 6.3.5 no longer receives updates or maintenance from KDE; active versions are 6.4 or newer. Please upgrade to an active version as soon as your distribution makes it available to you. Plasma is a fast-moving project, and bugs in one version are often fixed in the next one. If you need help with Plasma 6.3.5, please contact your distribution, who bears the responsibility of providing help for older releases that are no longer receiving updates from KDE. If you can reproduce the issue after upgrading to an active version, feel free to re-open this bug report. Created attachment 183976 [details]
drm_info for version 6.4.4
Just upgraded my system, sadly the issue persists. I've also noticed that the tint gets heavier the lower the effective temperature of Night Light is. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: NixOS 25.11 KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.16.0 Qt Version: 6.9.1 Kernel Version: 6.15.9-xanmod1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core Processor Memory: 16 GiB of RAM (15.5 GiB usable) Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 498881 *** |
Created attachment 183971 [details] archive containing 6 picture files, 1 video file, and one text file SUMMARY Night light produces agreeable colors to my eyes on the screen; however any video recording or screenshots done with any program done while night light is active shows very tinted colors. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Activate Night Light. 2. Make a screenshot or screen recording. 3. Observe said image or video with Night Light disabled. OBSERVED RESULT I've attached some images: -The first three are screenshot pairs taken with Spectacle (a screenshot of two screenshots), the first of each pair was done with Night Light on, the second with Night Light off. -The second three have the same subject, but the images of the Spectacle windows were taken while Night Light was on. With the first three it's possible to observe the described tint. It looks like the pictures are completely missing any yellow (awkward since it's not even an RGB primary). It's worth noting that while Night Light itself is active, it's impossible to see any sign of this issue, that's why there is little to no difference between the two sides of the second triad of attached photos. -A screen recording (done with OBS' "Screen capture (PipeWire)") of the first three photos is also attached EXPECTED RESULT Screenshots and screen recordings should bypass completely the Night Light filter and their colors should not depend on whether Night Light is active or not. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: NixOS 25.11 KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.14.0 Qt Version: 6.9.0 Kernel Version: 6.14.8-xanmod1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core Processor Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pictures were taken with Spectacle; Video was taken with OBS; gpu-screen-recorder recordings have the same issue, both when recording via DRM and via the XDG portal. HDR is not enabled. The issue appears both with the Built-in color profile and with no color profile applied. So far I've encountered this issue on three different monitors; I don't currently have access to the other two. Output of `drm_info` is attached.
