Description quanticcpu2100 2025-08-04 12:26:09 UTC
The shortcuts settings doesn't allow to register a mouse button as an input key, so I want to use a mouse button to take and screenshots with Spectacle and I'm unable to config it.

Feature request: Shortcuts > Allow to register mouse buttons as input key.

Operating System: Fedora 42
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.16.0
Qt Version: 6.9.1
Kernel Version: 6.16 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

This would be useful for people with accessibility issues and rely on mouse buttons
Also for people who may not have accessibility issues, but have mice with many buttons

There's already a slightly different way to do this: System Settings > Mouse > Configure Extra Buttons > choose a shortcut for each button that corresponds to the action you'd like triggered.

I think it also makes sense to offer the same in reverse, by letting people do it from the Shortcuts page.
