Thanks for the bug report! Unfortunately it reports multiple distinct issues, which will make it not actionable. See https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Issue_Reporting#Multiple_issues_in_a_single_Bugzilla_ticket for more explanation. I can at least let you know what's been fixed already. I verified the behavior you describe in Plasma 6.4.3 There have been improvements to this dialog in git-master which address most of your concerns. - The window is taller by default and all of the text is shown by default - All of the text above the input field is shown For these two: 2. "How to find the name to enter" link in the text uses "xprop". Now that KDE defaults to Wayland, is that correct? 7. Should this not be greyed out unless "Immediately on selection" in parent window is used? But I am not sure actually. As the template suggests, if you're not sure something is actually a bug, post about it at https://discuss.kde.org Can I ask you to submit a new bug report for each remaining specific issue? Thanks again! Well, if if is actually visible, the main issue is solved and I guess I disagree that there is much value in dividing this into separate issues, so I guess I will leave it be but thanks for a reaction. |
Created attachment 183644 [details] The last line is partially hidden SUMMARY The Exclude Windows window is quite suboptimal, unfortunately. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Go to Configure clipboard... > Action menu > Exclude Windows... OBSERVED RESULT 1. The text in the window is visible right away and the last paragraph is not partly hidden. (I am attaching a screenshot) 2. "How to find the name to enter" link in the text uses "xprop". Now that KDE defaults to Wayland, is that correct? Though weirldy xprop workef, so maybe just add that it works for both? I am frankly confused. 3. Anyway, the popup that is shown for "How to find the name to enter" should be of a form that one can copy paste from it. It is extremely annoying to copy the command while typing when the pop-up disappears when I focus a terminal app 4. The Exlude Windows window weirdly freezes Plasma. While it is open, I can interact with my browser (Vivaldi), I can alt tab and use other apps, but I cannot open Appliucation dashboard from a panel, nor switch tasks using a task switcher nor interact with icons on my desktop 5. The Exlude Windows should be higher by default. As of now, 750 pixels is enough to show it without any scrollbars. I am not sure what is the smallest display size Plasma now monitors, but unnecessary scrollbars are alwasy a bit annoying. 6. "vivaldi-stable" and "vivaldi-snapshot" should be added to the default list. Not sure what the proper name of Chrome browser is, but that should be added too. 7. Should this not be greyed out unless "Immediately on selection" in parent window is used? But I am not sure actually. EXPECTED RESULT The issues above are addressed.
