Workaround: Click on the titlebar of the "Alternatives" popup, then click somewhere else.

Do any of these issues stop happening in a Wayland session?

Comment 9 Alexander Potashev 2025-10-25 20:17:53 UTC
None of these are reproducible on Wayland + Fedora 42:

* The popup doesn't close when clicking on an item in taskbar to restore/minimize a window.
* The popup doesn't close when click-dragging on the desktop (Folder View).
* The popup doesn't close when using a different app (e.g. Chrome) and clicking in its window.
* The popup doesn't close when opening K-menu.

Still reproducible on X11 + same system.

Operating System: Fedora Linux 42
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0
Qt Version: 6.9.2
Kernel Version: 6.17.4-200.fc42.x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz
Memory: 16 ГиБ of RAM (15.4 ГиБ usable)
Graphics Processor 1: Intel® HD Graphics 530
Graphics Processor 2: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
Comment 10 Nate Graham 2025-10-27 17:28:40 UTC
All of those work for me on Wayland. At this point I'm leaning towards there being something in your user account causing it.

Can you reproduce those issues in a Wayland session of a new clean user account on the same system?
Comment 11 Nate Graham 2025-10-29 19:24:40 UTC
Perhaps notably, I can reproduce these issues for the Alternatives popup when it's invoked from a *desktop* widget: Bug 511335. Just not from a panel widget.
