Panel stretched and miscentered after unlocking

SUMMARY
After unlocking, randomly, the panel stretches to the right and leaves a big white space, and is miscentered (see picture). Afterwards, Plasmashell "crashes" and restarts without the "plasmashell has crashed" notification that usually appears.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set the panel to floating and auto-adjust width.
2. Unlock screen

OBSERVED RESULT
 See the attached picture

EXPECTED RESULT
The panel should look centered and with no spaces as per my adjustments

As the message at the top of the summary says, if something crashed, we need a backtrace of it so we can figure out what's going on. Can you please attach a backtrace of the crash using the coredumpctl command-line program, as detailed in https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports#Retrieving_a_backtrace_using_coredumpctl ?

It's possible that plasmashell isn't actually crashing, it's just redrawing, but let's start there.

Might be that, it's not leaving any coredump nor backtrace nor message in the logs. But it's still something that used to not happen, as well as this bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=507023 that makes me to unlock it from the tty every time as the lockscreen is completely broken. May be related to that?
Comment 3 TraceyC 2025-07-29 16:50:39 UTC
If there are no coredumps, then it's not actually crashing. Something might be exiting with a Wayland protocol error.

Can you check the logs for around the time of the bug happening? You can use something like
"sudo journalctl -S today"

Please paste the output from the time of the unlock to about one minute after into this report. Thanks!
