In third world countries, electricity can get very unstable during storms, and modems and routers can take a long time to boot. There are times the internet is under maintenance, so it displays the limited connection icon for hours. The notification for limited connection is useless to me. A notification for a functional connection would allow me to know by sound when I can use the internet on my notebook. I am not sure we should have a notification by default (the admittedly hard to see orange question mark disappears) but I agree that we could provide this notification as an option. (Of course we must be careful here not to show it whenever you connect to any network as NM typically transitions from limited to full during aconnection cycle) We already have a notification when you manually connect. It would also be useful for when the panel is set to auto-hide or dodge windows. |
