As I've suggested for Baloo, add some local AI engine. There are plenty of open source ones that can be used locally. Of course it should be optional: meybe not users need it nor wnat to use several gigs of their storage for local AI. but for many of us, would be a great improvement to be able to query Kmail, Korganizer, Akregator, etc, instead of just getting a list of mails with the searched terms.
Another use would be mail classification and labeling. Kmail's labels work... well, you know, if they work at all, and also only follow rudimentary logic along the lines of: "If the subject/sender/recipient/etc contains "this", label it "Such". The really useful thing to do would be to say to the AI: "All messages that come into any of my accounts that are about raising horses in coastal climates, tag me with labels that say "horses", "livestock", "sea" and move them to a folder you create in my local inbox with the name "Raising horses".
Or think about spelling. The current spellchecker is a piece of... well, let's be polite, from 1998 or so, which can't tell that in ""Heyco me to my place to morrow. Well behav ing a party" it doesn't have to correct "Heyco" and passing "me" as good, nor "Well behav ing" is "Well behave in"  but "but "We'll be having", and such.
I suppose that many of you have moved from writing texts for emails in Kmail to ChatGPT, Deepseek, Duck.ai or any other AI precisely because of that, and because of the possibility of asking the AI to punctuate it correctly or even give the text a more formal, friendly, jocular, etc. character.
Of how useful it would be to be able to ask the AI to summarise the news we get in Akregator, I think it's so obvious that over any comment.

Well, wouldn't it be great to be able to do that from the privacy of our mail, calendar, news, etc.?

I started to implement it. 
You need last ktextaddons and new pim* (will be release in some weeks).
It's in progress but AI in kde support ollama or network AI support (as MistralAI, openAI etc.)

I started to create AI plugin in kmail/sieveeditor.
I will continue to implement it in next version.

Using AI in filter mail can be a good idea.

I know that Android with Gemini and Microsoft are implementing AI in their OSs, and saw what I thought was going to be another missed train for the Linux desktop. But I'm very glad to hear that this is not the case. This would be a real boost for KDE and would put it at the vanguard not so far from Windows AI integration.

Have you looked into whether you could apply for institutional support? I mean, with this AI mania, I know that there are institutions in various countries and in the EU that are funding projects to integrate AI more and more into existing platforms. I think a KDE ‘on steroids’ might be a valid candidate, being a non-profit organisation, for public support.

This is an idea that you may have considered before, so if it's repetitive and obvious, I apologise, but une never knows...
