This sounds like a workaround to an underlying issue. We can't guarantee that 100% of users will keep the window open while this process completes. Therefore, the desired behavior is to have the theme change complete, even if the window is closed. Also, there are distros where this operation is very quick, and so the notification is unnecessary, or it doesn't apply (if it doesn't use initramfs) I tested this on KDE Neon Testing, to see what would happen if the window was closed during the Apply operation. I observed the change was applied. Have you seen this fail? If so, can you provide Distribution: KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: No I haven't seen it fail, in that case, if it presents no harm to the system while its closed or reapplied a different theme after opening the window again while the previous process is in progress or so, then this report can be closed.
