SUMMARY
Already read items show up in Unread

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open alligator
2.  Press "Refresh"
3.  Press "Mark all read"
4. Press "Refresh" again
5. Go to "Unread" tab
 
OBSERVED RESULT
Items/Posts that were already marked as read, show up in "Unread" as unread items.

EXPECTED RESULT
Only showing the items in Unread that are new and not yet read.

Update: Bug does not exist on the Desktop version of Alligator.

I can confirm this issue on Plasma Mobile (PostmarketOS)

When I close Alligator, it looks like not all messages downloaded via refresh are saved. After reopening the app, I have to press refresh again. All new messages, both older and newer than what was visible at launching the app, are then marked as unread.
