Those images in question were Haruna .jpg screenshots. Just confirmed that deleted .mp4 videos are also storing their location post-deletion. You can reproduce it by taking a screenshot, uploading to a cloud service, Shift+Del the screenshot, then download the screenshot. It will go to the same place (It actually goes one block to the right due to Bug 495047 ). I cannot reproduce this issue as reported on current git master. Dragging the item to the "Desktop" places entry positions it in the top-left corner as I would expect for an item without stored position data. Tried with an MP4 video, even though I don't believe this is file type specific. It's possible it was fixed recently by some other Folder View fixed that are going into 6.4.5 and 6.5.0. Can you attach a screen recording that shows it happening? It doesn't seem to be storing it now in 6.4.4 Re-downloading the file is now putting it one space under where it should, but that's due to Bug 495319 Created attachment 184281 [details]
Issue on Plasma 6.4.4
1- Copy the .jpg to a folder.
2- Move the .jpg to another folder.
3- Move the copied .jpg into Dolphin's Places' Desktop.
Result:
Bizarre positioning.
