Description Dominik Kummer 2025-07-09 11:55:23 UTC
I added Kate in Autostart KCM with the following parameters `-n -s <my-session-name>`. But when I boot my machine and login my user with SDDM - since latest update - Kate starts with the welcome page, telling me that my most important session has zero files. Without regular backup I'd probably quit myself.

I just had this too with Kate 25.04.3 on Wayland with the "On login, launch apps that were open: On last logout" Session Restore KCM setting enabled.
I used to manually close Kate before rebooting and reopening it by opening a file.

For anyone wondering, the sessions are saved in ~/.local/share/kate/sessions/

Can someone try with latest Kate and see if this is still reproducible?

Comment 4 Dominik Kummer 2025-09-04 21:35:53 UTC
I is still reproducable with autostart application settings:

program: kate
arguments: -s [yoursessionname]
Comment 5 Dominik Kummer 2025-09-04 21:37:02 UTC
btw it does not happen after every single login, so its not reliably reproducable IMHO.
