Description Amilie Baker 2025-07-01 22:18:32 UTC
SUMMARY
Upon waking from sleep, on a NVIDIA device the second monitor display does not wake appropriately and changes resolution to something like 144p. Occurs on NVIDIA devices only - not sure if this is a KWIN issue or a more general issue.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have a NVIDIA GPU.
2. Sleep your device via timeout (META + L works perfectly).
3. Wait 5 minutes.
4. Wake from sleep via a USB keyboard/mouse.
5. Look at monitor 2.

OBSERVED RESULT
Monitor switches to 144p-esque display with layout broken.

EXPECTED RESULT
Monitor restores in same state as upon sleep. (1920x1080@144hz in my case).

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.15.0
Qt Version: 6.9.1

Hello @David Edmundson.

These are not duplicate bugs. Please don't mark them as duplicates when they are clearly separate issues. The mouse does in fact function when it comes from wake, it is a display issue, not a mouse input issue.(In reply to David Edmundson from comment #2)

That shows the display in 1920x1080@144Hz mode, so this will be a driver bug. Please report it at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/nouveau/-/issues
