Description Chuck Lidderdale 2025-06-26 13:09:46 UTC
SUMMARY
Pre 6.4 a minimized app could be brought back by Double Click on the Icon in the System Tray. DblClick no longer does anythng. However "WinKey-leftclick" does un-minimize the app.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In an app (ie thunderbird) click "V" - minimize
2. Go to SysTray - DblClick on Icon
3. Click-click click-click click-click until the cows come home

OBSERVED RESULT
Double Click does nothing

EXPECTED RESULT
App un-minimized

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Fedora fc42 (L&G)
Linux/KDE Plasma:
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4
KDE Frameworks Version:
Qt Version:

Well that's unusual, because the Plasma System Tray has no handling for double-clicks on icons. If what you're describing worked in the past, it was unintentional, the result of a bug that got fixed, or provided by the apps themselves. Typically a single-click on an app's tray icon is enough to de-minimize its window, but again, this would be something provided by the tray icon itself, not anything in Plasma.

So, I minimize an app.  Icon in tray. What is the procedure to bring it back up?  Thanks

Well like I said, it depends on the app. But typically, you just click on the icon once.

FC42 l&g kde 6.4
Minimize.   Left click in icon - nada.  Right click pop-up menu - Recent x5. Action: ... More: Move, Resize, etc. Click on Move. App pops up (moveable) Click. And app is back.  PITA
