Description Sebastian Gauna 2025-06-23 13:37:00 UTC
SUMMARY
It's possible to select a x11 session within SDDM in a fresh installation of Neon but when you login, all the windows are broken, not title bar, no buttons, they stack on each other and cannot be moved or closed. It turns out that, as I was told in https://discuss.kde.org/t/x11-completely-broken/36011, kwin-x11 is not being installed.

Even making a whole update does not fix the issue.

After manually installing kwin-x11 everything seems to work fine.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download installation image https://files.kde.org/neon/images/user/20250622-0744/neon-user-20250622-0744.iso (it also happens with previous versions)
2. Install Neon
3. Login chossing x11

OBSERVED RESULT
Windows are broken, kwin-x11 is not installed.

EXPECTED RESULT
kwin-x11 installed by default and Windows working fine .

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Neon / 6.3 and 6.4
