Version: unspecified (using KDE 6.3)
OS: Linux

I tried to recreate the feature from the Finder under Mac OS using a service menu and a script, but the Dolphin file manager does not allow coloring the text background of files or folders by default. Unfortunately there is no native API in Dolphin to colorize a file name based on (I tried) e.g. xattr.

Here are examples, as I had imagined:

I know that there is the possibility to colorize folder icons, but firstly this does not work with files and secondly it does not work if the folder already has a special icon.

Reproducible: tried to build something myself

The tags system is pretty bare boned, and this would be a useful visual improvement
