Works for me on a non super old version like yours, closing as works for me.

Well, as long as it works for you.....

Ah, the 'latest version' gambit. Always a humorous response.

Let's see if I get this right. The attached screenshot shows the latest available in the latest Debian release. Yup, that's the one I've got. So I'm up-to-date according to that.

Sure, the Kpat programmers could make sure that there are no 'outdated' versions being distributed. Or they could make their program automatically updated as many other programmers do. Or they could only release it in the format they desire to make sure out-of-date versions do not exist.

In the computer industry, it is the OS that sets the stage. The application programmers must keep up. By the way, it is unwise and unfair to expect the user to be forced to use beta version of the OS.

Going to your web site at https://apps.kde.org/kpat/ shows an icon near the top right. Selecting that brings up the Gnome program entitled 'Software'. It gave the attached screenshot.

We seem to be getting even more limited in the options for ease of upgrade.

Perhaps you could offer some reasonable advice on how to keep the program updated to the latest version. That would be helpful.

Never use Debian [stable] if you are interested in up to date software, that is a you problem, i thought the world had come to understand that.

We do, https://flathub.org/apps/org.kde.kpat

There are a lot more users of Debian than Kpat. Evidently your world is very small. So sad.

Further, if you only want to offer the latest version and force that upon all users, then rid the world of your outdated versions. I pointed this out before. You can't have it both ways. This is only reasonable. Spamming the world with unsupported software is a disservice to the whole world and is a shameful practice.

You are wrong, so wrong that you're not worth my time correcting you.

This will be my last message in this issue, I suggest it is also your last.
