Description Alexander Potashev 2025-05-23 08:41:28 UTC
SUMMARY
Allow recovery of closed empty Untitled documents.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run Kate, it creates an Untitled document automatically.
2. Type "abc"
3. Press Backspace 3 times to erase "abc"
4. Press Ctrl+W to close the document. The document is immediately closed with no questions asked.
5. The user wants to recover what they had before closing the document. Maybe they fatfingered a key sequence Ctrl+A, Backspace, Ctrl+W and lost important work.

OBSERVED RESULT
Cannot recover Untitled document.

EXPECTED RESULT
Menu "File -> Open Recent" should have the "Untitled" at the top of the list. When selected, the same empty document should open (including undo history), then Undo (Ctrl+Z) would restore the content that was deleted before closing the document.
