Description Luke-Jr 2002-11-09 03:54:19 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.9)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: GCC 3.2
OS: Linux

The "Maximum file size" option in KControl->KDE Components->File Manager->Previews has a few problems...
1. It cannot be disabled
2. It should compare the amount of the file needed for the previews. For example, it only needs the first frame of video files for previews and those are usually under 1 MB, but this option skips them because the actual file is larger.
3. Preferably, there should be the ability to set a max file size per protocol/filetype combo, but this isn't really neccesary for a release.

Excellent points.
Comment 2 Zack Cerza 2005-04-13 05:05:39 UTC
Ah, yes. The maximum allowed maximum file size is 100MB. If you're asking me to set a maximum... let me set it. Don't tease me. :P
