I'm not sure if it is a sessionmanagement related or powermanagement related bug :( But i think it is more likely sessionmanagement. since it happens after entering password in lock screen. Update: when i changed "when power button pressed" from "show logout screen" (the default one) to "do nothing" in power management. the problem solved. This makes me wonder why lid change causing this event. And also , when "when power button pressed" is "show logout screen" originally , i press the power button, logout screen won't show. nothing happens . (more bugs now) ----- FYI, my laptop is Mechrevo Code 01 2022. and all operations are under AC power. You aren't deliberately pressing the power button at any time here, right? It sounds kind of like the power management firmware or hardware on the system are faulty such that the system thinks the power button is pressed when it's not, and doesn't think it's pressed when it is. > You aren't deliberately pressing the power button at any time here, right? Yes, the power button is on the C cover/case , it not possible to press it when lid is closed. > It sounds kind of like the power management firmware or hardware on the system are faulty such that the system thinks the power button is pressed when it's not, and doesn't think it's pressed when it is. This makes me recall the recent failure (not working) of fingerprint reader integrated with the power button. Although after several reboot , the fingerprint reader works again. This also makes me recall that a weird behavior of this laptop (which may not be related): After long time plugging USB-C power cable, when unplugging the cable, the power state won't change from AC power to battery. Reboot doesn't help. You need to drain the battery to 0% (and you have no way to observe it except a suddenly poweroff) and then recharge it to make it recognize power state correctly. -------- Anyway, i will take time to try last working Fedora release (i.e. 40) and see if this bug still happens. If so, that may be my device hardware fault. ๐๐งน โ ๏ธ This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days.
