Hi - I can't reproduce this on my Fedora KDE 42 device - there is a clear option for "JPEG image" in the Save As File type dropdown, and saving as another image type definitely changes the image type, as verifiable by running head <filename>. Is there a chance that you are missing some dependencies of Gwenview on your device? I noticed that its Arch Linux package has several image format packages as "optional" dependencies. Trying to save an images in another format - fails. 2. specifying a different extension for the file - doesn't change the selected format 3. specifying a different type & extension for the file - just create a copy of the original file 4. there's no option to save as simple JPEG. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. open a HEIC file 2. File > Save as 3. search for simple JPEG format -- there isn't a simple JPEG format. 4. save as PNG or WEBP. the file is saved with a new filename + extesion but the format is still HEIC. OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT 1. appending a new image file extension, changes the file format box. 2. saving in another format, saves the file in that format 3. having a JPEG option, in the "save as" dialo SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: EndeavorOS (ArchOS) KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.13.0 Qt Version: 6.9.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION it happened at least a year (since I installed it)
