SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
(available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window)
Linux/KDE Plasma: openSUSE Tumbleweed [latest snapshot - 20250509]
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.13.0
Qt Version: 6.9.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This just started I believe after the latest openSUSE Tumbleweed update, i.e. 2025-0509, which included a major KDE update IIRC.

I tried to get a screenshot of a sample page with the Options modal open, but it can't be done with either the Google Developer Tools or the available screenshot apps I have available.

Does it happen in KDE apps not using the portal system, e.g. Kate or KWrite installed from distro packages?

No, everything is fine outside the Chrome browser integration. I just tested it in Firefox as well, and the same problem exists.

This is likely the same problem that Firefox had back in 2024, for which I submitted Bug 475668. which would indicate to me some sort of regression. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475668 In that case, I was asked to submit a bug report to Mozilla, which I did. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1859420

So now we have it in Chrome. Possibly Google has done something.

I can confirm the issue in Chrome, Chromium, Ungoogled Chromium, and also Firefox, yeah.

Our reference implementation in the form of xdg-portal-test-kde still does the right thing, so it seems like there's something specific to these usages of it.

I'll mark this as a duplicate of Bug 475668 and re-open it fur further investigation.
